Chronology :

573.6 (c)(6) – Chronology of Events Determining the Defect

1. 4th July 2023 – Initial concern raised. Report of failure of oil cooler hose that had split in the field.
Symptoms were smoke from engine and oil level and pressure warnings.

2. This prompted an investigation.

3. Aston MartineBay logo was already liaising with supplier during June 2023 to investigate cause of failure from a vehicle during a rolling road test to increase the pressure test from 7 bar to 15 bar. Vehicle system would have a nominal operating pressure of 7.5 bar. A 25 bar hose was later introduced that superseded the 15 bar hose.

4. The Company’s Technical Review Group (TRG) met regularly throughout the investigation.

5. The Company’s Critical Concerns Review Group (CCRG) met on 12th March to assess the nature and scope of potential concerns related to the oiler cooler hose, and the effectiveness of the 15 bar and 25 bar pressure tests to address all concerns.

6. The CCRG reviewed the technical data and recommended the matter should be reviewed by the Recall Committee.

7. The Recall Committee convened on 03/04/2024 and determined that:

a) a potential defect could occur in the relevant vehicle population;

b) this defect could lead to a potential safety risk; and

c) a voluntary safety recall of all affected vehicles be implemented
